Zeroid Alien by Ideal Toy - This is the Zeroid Alien, the Invader from Outer Space with the computer brain. Released by Ideal in 1970, this was a radical departure from the usual robot designs. It’s a curious looking toy, and quite a bit different internally to the regular Zeroid. The quick change ‘Motorific’ electric motor is set within the casing, and only accessible if the Alien is taken apart. On the original Zeroids, the motor simply powered forward and reverse movement. On the Alien the motor also turns the removable cams which are used to programme the actions of the toy. There are four cams – Search, Patrol, Sentry and Self Destruct!. - Through the Courtesy of : : a l p h a d r o m e - The Home of Vintage Tin Robots (U.S.A.) |
